5Would my loved one benefit from In-home care compared to a nursing facility? Which one is more affordable?
Statistically, home care is more affordable than a nursing facility. The average annual cost for nursing home care rose 17% in 2 years. Caring Matters believes that in-home care is always the best alternative for the loved one who wishes to remain at home, surrounded by the familiar faces of the ones who love them and care about them. The fact that you select the amount of time that we provide care to best benefit your loved one keeps the cost at a manageable level. Compared to the caregiver to client ratio found in nursing homes, we believe our one-on-one care provided by in-home caregivers is certainly the better choice. (Please understand that a non-medical in-home agency is NOT a replacement for medical care.)

WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING
  • Thanks for coming out to my home to get the information and to see what we have to work with. I appreciate everyone working together to make Ralph comfortable with his care. I was really impressed with Wendy. She didn’t seem to be in any hurry to leave. She was more interested in getting the information that she needed to take care of Ralph and to take a look at the lift. She helped me to get Ralph out onto his chair. I am looking forward to having her come in with Ralph sometime. Ralph seems to be comfortable with her as well and is looking forward to working with her.

  • As I spoke with Maria this morning, I wish to share how highly your aide is regarded by my 85 year old God-parents, Richard R. And Gene K. of Reading, Pennsylvania. Simply put, she is more than just an employee of Caring Matters. She is a valuable life sustaining asset and friend to my two God-parents. They both look forward to her coming every Wednesday and Friday. What sets her apart is that she, with ease and sincerity, serves continually for the duration of her time at her client’s site. By going above and beyond her pre-scripted call of duty, she demonstrates very transparently a heart that cares for my God-parents (and I’m sure many others) . Stellar performance! Excellent character! she has become a family member to them, and to me as well.

  • I wanted to let you know officially how pleased I am with my aides. Although I have used aides from different agencies in the past, I have not seen any that compare with these women. Each is smart, experienced, and reliable. They are also pleasant company, and they really do care. I think it’s the obligation of each of us to pass along kudos to those who’ve earned them! How remarkable it is when an agency’s aides live up to its name.
    Martha

  • Thank you Caring Matters for the excellent and loving care you provide for my Uncle.
    Carol
  • I am writing to commend one of your caregivers for the work she has done with my brother. My brother can be very difficult and nasty at times but she has the ability to counteract his negativity and has gained his trust. She truly cares about his well being and has made a positive difference in his mental outlook and personal hygiene. It's evident that her work is not just a job to her because of the effort she makes to connect with him every time she sees him. Before she became his caregiver my brother's health was very poor. I was unable to tend to his needs and oversee that he took his medication regularly. Other caregivers tried to help him but he was resistant to their efforts and was very unpleasant towards them. I was frustrated with his behavior and concerned about his health because he was still not taking his medication regularly and his condition was not improving. Somehow your caregiver found a way to get through to him and now he looks forward to her visits and voluntarily takes his medications. Most importantly he trusts her. Caring Matters Home Care's caregiver is truly a caring person and I'm so happy with her attendance to him. You have a special person in your employment.

    Kristi
  • Thank you for the outstanding care that was provided to my uncle, Paul Jivotovsky, during his care at both Tampico and at home.  There aren't enough words to say thank you for coming to assist him on very short notice.  Will recommend to everyone I know.

A HISTORY OF CARE

Caring Matters was founded in 2002 as Caring Companions in Reading, Pennsylvania. The company was built under the leadership of Russell Piper, whose career in the nursing field spanned more than twenty years. After decades of working to serve a wide variety of clients, he decided there was a need for an organization that would focus specifically on the quality of care delivered to at-home clients. Rooted in genuine care and compassion for people, Mr. Piper decided to build a company that would change the face of the home care industry.

Caring Matters was born, and soon thereafter, he brought in a group of professionals who shared the same core beliefs and ideas about what made his approach to patient care so special. Soon, the Reading, PA office was bustling with more than 250 employees and the in-home care landscape had been changed forever. With the assistance of a dedicated team of professionals, Mr. Piper and his Caring Matters organization continue to redefine the home care experience.

Caring Matters is expanding into markets throughout the United States with the addition of home care franchise partner offices in select markets. For more information on Caring Matters, call (610) 374-6522 or toll-free at (888) 280-7552 or click here.

MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO, RUSSEL PIPER

As the owner and founder of Caring Matters, Russell Piper understands the client perspective. After experiencing the difficulty of finding quality care for a loved one of his own, he was moved to form an organization that would help others in their time of need.

My father had dementia and my mother served as his caregiver for many years. While all of my brothers and sisters, including myself, were away at college, my mother had to have emergency surgery, leaving no one on such short notice to care for my dad. So, for a few days, until the family could get home to help my mother, my father had to go to a nursing home. Within just a few days of his arrival at the nursing facility, he developed skin breakdown, a urinary tract infection, and a respiratory tract infection--none of which had ever happened while he was in my mother's care. At that point, I made a promise to myself and to my dad that one day I would find a way to help people handle the basics of day to day living while caring for a loved one. After nearly 20 years in the nursing field helping to provide direct hands-on care to individuals in need, I founded Caring Matters to provide quality at-home care at affordable rates delivered with kindness and professionalism. In doing so, I kept my promise to my father and to myself, and have been able to help thousands of families around the country receive the help they need.
